Lake District at first glance
Argentina's Lake District extends from Junín de los Andes south to Esquel -- an alpine-like region of snowy mountains, waterfalls, lush forest, and, of course, glacier-fed lakes.
San Martín de los Andes, Bariloche, and Villa La Angostura are the chief destinations here, but this isn't an area where you stay in one place for long. Driving tours, boating, skiing -- you'll be on the move from the moment you set foot in the region.
To avoid the crowds, we highly recommend that you plan a trip during the spring or fall.
